I have installed ver 9 TI. I was able to BU my EIDE drive to another and it worked. Cool.

My question is the truimage software installed 3 files that run on bootup.
I am really trying to keep my extras at minimum.

Do I really need them?

Can I make a CD or floppy to do the same BU clone and then remove the software from my hard drive?

I have read the manual, but don't understand how.

I downloaded this version and I am waiting the CD which I ordered at the same time.

You can create a Rescue CD (rescue media)from the version you downloaded. The command is on the main screen or you can find it by Start, Acronis, Acronis True Image Home, Bootable Rescue Media. Once you have it working you do not need TI to be installed on your HD although I dont' think you can mount an image and copy files from it, plus it is more convenient in Windows.

You can try searching this forum since there has been a fair bit of discussion about what really needs to be present and what doesn't. I take the opposite perspective, I bought the resources and I'm going to use them to make life simple.

Thanks for the response.

My computr takes over 2 minutes to boot beacause of all the programs that want stuff to load. Just trying to cut down. I have been looking for that information, have not found it yet.
