I recently cloned my hard drive to a larger drive. I used the trial version 9.0 HOME and intended to purchase the software after the 15 day trial but not now. I am experiencing a lock down situation. After the computer sets unused for an hour or so nothing will run when I click an icon on the desktop. I get an error message that says: " Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

I have checked for all the viruses. I ran the sfc /scannow process suggested by another forum.

A restart or reboot clears the problem for a while until the computer sets idle for some time.

Anyone had this problem?

Incidently, the original drive does not have this problem?????????

Hello BryanWM,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

Please explain your step-by-step actions which you took to clone the hard drive. Did you select "automatic" or "manual" clone mode? Please tell us what hard drives you use? Could you please tell me what operating system you use? Please create Windows System Information on both original and cloned hard drive as it is described in Acronis Help Post (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=55317). Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

Thank you.
