This is what Sygate gave me:Connection origin :File Version :******4.10.1998
File Description :***TCP/IP Configuration Utility
File Path :******C:\WINDOWS\WINIPCFG.EXE
Process ID :******FFFB303F (Heximal) 4294651967 (Decimal)

***local initiated
Protocol :******ICMP
Local Address : ******.***.**.**
ICMP Type :******10 (Router Solicitation)
ICMP Code : ******0
Remote Name :*********
Remote Address :***224.0.0.2

Ethernet packet details:
Ethernet II (Packet Length: 44)
***Destination: ***01-00-5e-00-00-02
***Source: ***44-45-53-54-00-00
Type: IP (0x0800)

I blocked it, but I'm wondering what it does/if its needed? It says its a Windows file :-\ and it checks out to be one... and, btw, I'm the one who asterisk'd out my IP#

Hi Comp01

It is not likely you neet it and should be fine in blocking that outbound ICMP type.

For some info on ICMP type 10: http://www.networksorcery.com/enp/protocol/icmp/msg10.htm
