View Full Version : Download Updates Manually in v4.0?

Hi
I have been using v3.5 on a computer without internet access. I have also been downloading the updates manually from the following address:http://download.ewido.net/ewido-signatures-current.exe
Could some-one advise me where I might do the same for v4.0? I assume the two versions use different files: V3.5 latest is about 1967 and the latest in v4.0 is about 36.
Cheers:

Currently there is no such download available. We're currently working on the new setup.

We're sorry for the inconvenience.

OK. Thanks for the reply. I`ll persevere with 3.5 and wait for a similar download facility for v4.0 at sometime in the future.

See post number 2 in here:

Since 4.0 is better than 3.5, I have already deleted my 3.5 setup file. ;D

When I installed my Ewido 4 the first time about 2 hours ago I managed to see the Real Time Protection and Update. But upon Uninstalling version 3.5 and then followed by Uninstalling version 4 then reinstalling version 4 ... both the real time proctections stopped working (I don't need them anyway but I want the Manual update to work that's all) but my Manual Update too stopped working as it would not allow me to set my Proxy connection.

So no more update for me anymore ... hmmm ... even 3.5 allowed me to set my proxy and let me do manul update ...

???

Normally, you can set the proxy options by enabling the checkbox "Use proxy". But it looks like there is currently a bug which will be fixed asap, sorry for the inconvenience! Have you tried reinstalling?

Peter.ewido, Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have installed and then uninstalled 3 times. The Proxy is still greyed out. I am on the Free version by the way. I like the new look so I guess I will wait for the next version where the bug(s) will hopefully be gone by then. Cheers Chew

It seems that the old 3.5 signature updater was still there, but I am not sure if it has been updated:

For 3.5

When I try to download the file in which folder should I save it?
I saved it in the signatures folder and executed it.
I got many .dat files, but the program still shows : last update 28/6/06 !!!
Many thanks

You can run it from any directory. The "Last update" date won't get updated when you use the manual updates, it's the date when the program connected to our servers for the last time.

OK thanks.
Now I have 368478 known signatures.
Why the auto update does not work on my system as I don't use any firewall??
