Mr Wilders, or any one, question.

Is Norton's Anti-Virus compatable with Wilders anti-virus program. Can you run both,

Thank You.

I am running Norton SystemWorks, Pro-Edition 2003. I also use Norton's Gost for my external back-up.

I also run The new Spybot and MRU Blaster, should I also add Spybot's virus program?

Thank you.

Thanks for the info.

I presume you are referring to Spybot Search & Destroy, when talking about "the new Spybot"? TJ, if that's the case, it isn't an antivirus program - it's software to cope with spyware.

Could you be more specific in regard to "Spybot's virus program"? I presume you've got things mixed up - don't worry, we'll sort this one out ;)

regards.

Thank you. My mistake, I had thought there was a Virus program also available. I see there is not.

Added question? I have down loaded from this site the following: 1. MRU Blaster
2. ID Blaster
3. Spyware Blaster 2.6.1 (over older version)
4. Spyware guard
However, I do notice a slight delay in downloads now. Is this something I just need to live with to get benefits of Spybot protection. Do I need all the above.
Did Norton Virus with the above downloads cause the slowdown.
I am on Earthlink Satellite.
I use my computer for business, on-line stock trading, so security is important to my income, etc.

Again thank you for your kind assistance and patience.

Right. The Javacool programs you listed are privacy and spyware protection programs.

All 4 of those programs protect your privacy in different ways and are complementary to each other. If I had to guess about one causing a "slight delay" in downloading, it might be SpywareGuard, which has a download protection capability and it scans .exe files before they are run, which also might take a small amount of extra time.

How much of a delay are you experiencing? You could try a test - disable SpywareGuard's protections and try another file download. If the delay is gone, re-enable and try one more to ensure that it is really SpywareGuard causing it. If it is, you'll have to weigh the value of protection against the length of the delay.

Here is an image link showing how to disable SpywareGuard's protections:

http://www.wilderssecurity.com/attachments/sg21-disableandexitprogram.gif

In the SG "Options" screen, clear all the protection boxes, then hit "Save Settings" and "OK" the popup box. If you then exit SpywareGuard, you've pretty much made sure it won't be effecting any operations you perform next. You can later restart SpywareGuard by double-clicking it's desktop icon. And, you reenable all protections by re-checking all the option boxes.

Let us know more about the delay... Thanks,

Hi Mr. Blaze,
Good suggestion to make to Javacool. His programs are so
good, I'm sure he could also make a very good AV. ;)

A pragmatic question: why should we? We are hosting the top of the bill security software forums over here on this board 8) Even in case we would manage (most probably not!) - why reinvent the wheel?

;D and thats exactly why.

cause you know if wilders people made it you know it be top of the bill.

for years this place has hosted the best in people and programs it be nice to have something with wilders logo stamp on it .

something simple and useful and never needed to be updated and could be used for years to come.

8)plainley said it would just be cool and if the program was nifty it would atract more people.

also they come here on the bord to learn how to use it.

there several good resons why paul and only a few reasons why not like time and work which now a days alot of programers seem to be burnt out tired and so forth.
