The best antispam I have ever seen in my life is Google Mail's. However,if you don't use Gmail , I strongly recommend you download the free Mozilla Thunderbird

popFile (http://popfile.sourceforge.net/) is a very effective free antispam application I used before. It can learn by itself and can reach an almost 100% correctness in spam catching. Very impressive.

I am using MailWasher Pro (http://www.firetrust.com/) currently. It seems not as effective as popFile. But the advantage of it is that the emails will not be downloaded to the local hard drive.

There are quite some antispam software out there. But I still have not found one which is as effective as popFile, but without emails downloaded (Maybe due to the fact that it is tougher to detect spam based only on subject and header).

As far as web emails such as hotmail and yahoo mail, I found their spam filters are all quite good although may not be perfect.

i m using KnujOn 0.2 extension in Thunderbird. https://addons.mozilla.org/thunderbird/2824/
the extension is based on the code from the open-source BlueFrog Thunderbird Extension by Vadim. and updated to allow Thunderbird users to forward their spam email to KnujOn instead .

Hi all, I use Spamrip which is very similar to Mailwasher but completely free. Speaking of Spam has anybody noticed the recent upsurge.? The amount did go down by about 50% for about a year but the last few weeks it has shot up to 70 junk mails a day. Usually about "those" medicines or online gambling or similar. I dont use the spammed e mail address anymore now anyway and all Spam gets deleted at the server so they just waste everybody's and their own time. But what happened to getting to grips with the spammers and stopping it at source??
Regards Gordon
