I backed my c drive partition into secure zone.
To restore the secure zone has a snapshot restore option -
But it says something like... Missing volume information
What exactly is going on here?

Be VERY careful with the Snap Restore feature. It will delete any partitions on the destination drive that haven't been included in the backup image. e.g. HD partitioned into C:, D: and E: and image created of just the C: partition. Restore this single partition image via Snap Restore and the C: partition will be restored alright but the D: and E: partitions will be zapped!! You have been warned 8).

In my opinion the Snap restore function should not be the default selection on the restoration type selection page. It would be better if it was more hidden under say an advanced selection option, high lit in red with warnings which Menorcaman has detailed in his post.

Hello dkaleky,
Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).
Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.
In addition to warning of Menorcaman, please be aware that Acronis Snap Restore cannot be used if the image contains no operating system or when restoring file archives. Also, Snap Restore of Windows 98/Me systems is not supported.
Please make sure that you use the latest build (3666) of Acronis True Image 9.0 which is available at: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/updates/
If you use the latest build and your image contains the operting system and the problem still persists, please download the latest version of Acronis drivers (http://www.acronis.com/files/support/SnapAPI_l_s_e.exe), install it with disabled logging and see if the problem still persists.
If the problem still persists then enable logging by running the Acronis drivers installation package once again, reproduce the problem and collect the c:\snapapi.log file.
Could you please also reproduce the problem and collect Acronis True Image log which can be saved from Tools -> Show Log -> Diskette icon?
Please create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=55317).
Please submit a request for technical support (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/support/). Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.
Thank you.
