View Full Version : Corrupt/Not Corrupt Image ?

I am in the process of doing a new/clean install of Win XP Pro. I have saved the image on my disk (drive E) and also to a DVD. When I try and verify the image on my hard drive I get the dreaded "Image is corrupt" however when I verify the image that's stored on the DVD I receive no error messages at all! Can anyone provide me with an explanation. (Chkdsk on E shows no irregularities on the drive).

A next step would be to generate a hash of each file and see if they are the same.

If they are it would imply that they are either both corrupt, or both OK :-)
More interesting would be if they differed - that would suggest that the one on the disk really is corrupt.

Please make sure that you use the latest build (3666) of Acronis True Image 9.0 which is available at: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/updates/

To get access to updates you should create an account at:
http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/
then log in and use your serial number to register your software.

If the problem persists with the latest build, could you please clarify whether you create an image within Windows or in rescue mode?

If your corrupt image is saved to the external hard drive, please try to save it to the internal one.

Please also try to verify images created from under Windows using Acronis True Image 9.0 Bootable rescue CD and vice versa.

Please tell us how you created the image on DVD? Please describe your actions in more detail.
