This may be a little guide for those who still suffer from spam.
There are some really nice free spamfilters you can use:
Spamhilator:http://www.spamihilator.com/index2.php?lang=en
Spamweasel: http://www.mailgate.com/download/freedown.asp
K9:http://keir.net/k9.html

So which one to use?
Well, because those three work all different, why not using all of them in cascade ;D
I'll try to show how I did set it up on my system
Because I use some Web-based mailboxes too I use Web2Pop http://www.jmasoftware.com/english/index.html(not free) to handle them as POP3 mailboxes.
for the example:

username; xxx@mail.com
password: yyy
mailserver: mail.com:110

Web2Pop listening port: 111
Spamweasel listening port: 998 separator char: ?
K9 listening port: 9999
Spamhilator listening port: 8210

For Outlook Express the settings would be:

Username: 127.0.0.1&localhost/111/xxx@mail.com?localhost:9999&998 (blue line in the picture)
Password: yyy
POP3 server: localhost
port:8210 (Advanced tab)
