I've been testing Admuncher at work, seems good, using the last free version of Adshield at home.

One thing I thought, how do I know if say Ms Messenger is storing unwanted cookies on my machine (I know it uses a passport cookie for login).

Could this be a big advantage of a proxy type adblocker ?

Also, if Adshield, for example, blocks an ad, I know its stopped the cookie and the advert, but is a connection to the ad sever made, as they now know I exist, this is something that I do NOT want.
Would a proxy type adblocker stop the connection ?
What about firewalls with adblockers ?

Yep! A proxy like Guidescope blocks servers not related to the visited page ie . . . ads!!
