Schlechtes Medium - Bad media

Hy,
I just bought the true image software from Acronis, which everyone suggested for a good backup!
I build the boot cd, boot my computer and run the image procedure. Because my system is a large one , I inserted a DL Fuiji-DVD. After a while I got an error. Bad media. OK, DL may be to advanced. So I took a "normal" DVD vor TDK. Same thing, "Bad media". OK. At last, I tried an external Hard drive (250= GB, USB) from sunstar (samsung hdd) with 48 GB free. I started the process at about 5 pm. At 10 pm it was at about 15%. OK, let the computer run over night.
Next morning, same problem: Bad media! Please help.
I found a simiar thread from 2004. The answer from the support was, "contact the support."

Warum Backup von der Boot-CD..? Das Linux System ist teilweise langsamer und "anfälliger" für "exotische" Hardware. Aus Windows heraus sollte das Backup wesentlich schneller gehen und das "Schlechtes Medium" Problem sollte sich auch erledigt haben...nebenbei: welche Version?

Why Backup with the recovery system..? The linux system is sometimes slower and not so good with hardware support. Backing up from within windows is faster and the "bad media" problem should disappear too..btw: which Version?

es ist die wohl etwas abgespeckte Chip-Version. Die kann man anscheinend nicht aus Windows heraus starten, sondern nur als Boot CD und dann backup. :(

Englisch war nur, weil die meisten Beiträge in English sind. ;- )

Hi,

ich habe auch die letzte Chip-Version mal getestet. Das ist die Personal Edition von TrueImage 7 (berechtigt übrigens zum verbilligten Update). Auch diese Version kann aus Windows heraus Images erstellen (siehe Bild).

Mist. Nun gehts auch bei mi.r Wiso ich meinte es ginge nicht? Keine Ahnung...:o
Werds mal laufen lassen, vielleicht gehts so ja besser. Games wegkopieren und dann testen. Hauptsache ich kann von der Bootcd, im Falle eines Systemcrashes auch die uSB-Platte ansprechen:-\

Hurra,
nun gings auch Im indows Mode und dann die games verschoben, dass es schlanker wurde. Im Backup die size auf 4GB gesetzt und als Ziel die USB-Platte genommen und "Abbild erfolgreich erstellt".
Von CD gebootet-> Abbild wiederherstellen-> USB-Platte gewählt->Und siehe da. Testimage1-3. Ziel wählen. Dann habe ich abgebrochen,weil noch tuts mein System! Ach ja und im chip-Forum (http://www.chip.de) habe ich erfahren, dass man die DVDs erst formatieren muss (ImageDrive, etc.)
