Where did you download the beta version? Did you download it from Grisoft's beta site?

Hello Badcompany
What is the name of the file that you have downloaded? Is it "ewido-setup.exe" of size 1,600,272 bytes? It is the beta file 4.0.0.151. Do you get this one? As of today, the beta file is still at 4.0.0.151. I cannot post the direct link here, because it may be against the beta DNA.

The desciption #150 and file size 1,562,77 is incorrect. It is the webmaster's mistake who failed to update the site with the correct info.
If you click the link to download the file, it should be 1,600,272 bytes!!!
After you have downloaded the file, right-click on the file and choose properties. It should have a size 1,600,272 bytes!!!

The size is correct
1562,77 kB x 1024 = 1600276 bytes

The free version is the full version so what does it matter? Just download it, update it. Go to the main screen and click enter license code and walaaa you have Ewido 4.0 full version..

There should be only one version in the Grisoft beta site, and that is the beta version 4.0.0.151. If you do not have a license code, the beta will function for only 30 days, after which real time protection and automatic update will be disabled. I am not sure what happens after 30 days, since I have entered my license key for the beta 4.0, but it will probably become the 4.0 beta free version with no real time protection and automatic updates.
If you download the 3.5 version, it will also become the free version with no real time protection after the trial period.

Do you mean you get version 3.5 from the Grisoft beta site when you want to download 4.0 beta again from the Grisoft beta site? Actually, when you download the file (3.5 or 4.0 beta), it is the full version. It will only become the free version after the trial period.

No, you get the full version of 4 from Grisoft the first time you download it, but after that you only get version 4 free, as if the trial period had finished. So you are only permitted one download of the full program.I had the full progam for only 1hr, every time i download beta 4 now, i get only the free version of beta 4

Doesn't the free version still say Enter License Code under status....

There is no difference between the "full version" and "free version"; there is only one version. The beta version acts like the "full version", with the guard active. The only difference is if you enter the license code the Status page will show
Version: 4.0.0.151 plus
Permium Support: Yes
Premium Updates: Yes

Sorry for the incorrect "information" I posted; I though the guard would be active for all beta testers.
But either way, there is only one installer. Once the license code is entered, the version information will change. (You can use the license code from 3.5 if you have it.)

Hi Badcompany,
It is strange. When I installed beta 4.0.0.151, it was a trial version instead of the free version. The "Trial" wording appeared before I entered the license code. And the file size of 4.0.0.151 is still 1,600,272 bytes. It has not been changed since it was released.
There should be a total of 30 days of trial of the beta version. You can see the wording:
"Your trial of ewido anti-malware runs out in 22 days", since this screenshot was captured when 4.0.0.151 was installed at the 8th day.
So for how long have you installed this 4.0.0.151 beta? More than 30 days already?

Hi Chubb,
No, I had it installed for only one hour,it would not update so I uninstalled and reinstalled that was my problem, you can only download the full program once. After that you get the free version. Today I recieved anew 30day key from Ewido, so everything is ok now.

Hm... It seems that the file and version is the same, but they simply adjust your license remote from their server. Or maybe they have changed the trial policy for the 4.0.0.151 beta since it very old, and the final version 4.0.0.172 is out today. You may give the final 4.0.0.172 a try. ;)

To play safe, it is always better to uninstall the old beta and install the final version.

Badcompany: I would recommend that you try the released version 3.5 for evaluation, rather than the beta product. 3.5 is stable and works very well.
To compare a released product (A²) with a beta version will not give you the result you want (especially now that I realize that the Ewido beta does not contain the guard without a license code).
The release version 3.5 trial lets you test the guard for 30 days.
Sorry again for the misinformation I posted earlier.

People are slow to get the news. Ewido 4.0 is final and also has a trial that includes a functioning guard and autoupdates.

I used the ewido beta version 4 on trial and uninstalled it today to use the final version, but I can't trial that one since I already used the other one for the 30 days. So is there anything I can do to trial the new version to run it active for 30 days to see if the memory usage, cpu usage etc got fixed in this final built.

I am wondering why the final version's installer is so much larger than the beta installers (4.0.0.150: 1.5MB; 4.0.0.152: 8.2MB)...? Not complaining, just wondering...

But I am a little disappointed that the final version 4.0.0.152 did not uninstall the previous version during the install. Now I have two versions...

Yeah the beta version stays in the add\remove list even after you remove it.
