Why does not Disk Director (9) not recognize an USB-Stick?
I would like to partition the USB-Stick into more than one partition. Is there a solution within Disk Director?
TIA, Ch.Keller

Hello cwkeller,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/diskdirector/).

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

If the USB-stick is recognized by operating system as removable drive then I'm afraid that Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 will not be able to repartition it. If it is recognized as a hard drive then the operation you are interested in should be possible.

Could you please clarify how Windows recognizes this USB-stick?

Thank you.

Hello Kirill,
It is recognized as Wechelmedium (not as hard drive).
I thought that I had correctly partitioned and formatted in Linux. Windows only sees the first partition and if I want to format it in Datenträgerverwaltung, then it brings the message that it doesn't work as the Partition or Volume is not activated.
Inasmuch as Disk Director will only work with a device recognized as a hard drive, this answers my question. Thank you, Christopher
