View Full Version : OS Selector "scrambled" drive allocations

Hello all,
I have DDS 10 (2177) and I have 4 partitions on my 300G drive:
1. C: WinXP
2. D: Win2K
3. E: Win2K
4. F: Win2K

OS Selector has them all confused. I have 2 problems:
1. If I select properties on a partition (via OS Selector) and select Folders, it correctly identifies the drive letter. But if I boot from one it goes to the wrong partition.
E.g.: C: goes to D:, D: goes to E:, E: goes to F:, and F: goes to F:
2. It thinks that the o.s. on ALL 4 partitions is Win XP

There has to be a way for me to rebuild the OS selector "boot table", right? I tried deactivating and reactivating the OS Selector. I tried running the OS Detector wizard but it told me there were no "new" o.s.'s on any of the partitions.

My next thought is to delete all the items from OS Selector and then run the OS Detector, but I'm scared that it won't find them and then I have no access to my partitions any more! :(

How can I recover please?
Thanks,
Graeme

Could you please clarify what exactly happens? What operating system are you trying to boot when the issue appears? What do you mean under "But if I boot from one it goes to the wrong partition"?

It will be much easier for us to help you if you provide us with the diagnostic information. So please create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=55317) and submit a request for technical support (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/support/). Attach the collected report file and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

Thank you.
