View Full Version : Start up problem Windows XP Home. Need help

Hello out there,

I have no idea if anyone can help me but I have an old laptop that I need to take back as it is at the end of it's rental and I have purchased another one, but I have turned it on and I get a message saying,

Windows could not start because of an error in the software.
Please report this problem as :
load needed DLLs for keranl.
Please contact your support person to report this problem.

I have not started the comnp for about 8 weeks but all was fine then. AllI want to do is get my information off it and and have it running so I can take it back.

Any help wopuld be much appreciated.

it's kind of hard to load a dll back on there unless you have the Windows XP CD. If u do, pop it in and then do an repair install. U should be good. If anything, take the hard drive out and plug it into a mini IDE to USB converter and download the files that way.
