hi all
i was wondering if anyone could recommend a better browser than IE coz being security minded i have been doing away with bloted insecure Microsoft tech first was outlook express then was media player and now I'm looking to replace IE
so here is what I'm looking for
it needs to be small fast unbloted newb friendly and secure and here is passably the hardest bit i need it to be able to run apps like IE spell that are designed for IE as i use them quite heavily

Hi Bethrezen,
See if you can find anything useful in here:

Both Mozilla and Opera are well worth a try.
And have a look here: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=13112

I don't know if you can use IE Spell on either of these browsers as I don't use IE Spell.
Mozilla Firebird is a lean browser that is light on resources from my experience with it.
Pretty fast for surfing speed also.
I use Opera 7.20 beta and I like it so far.
It's not as resource- hungry on my system as Mozilla is.
You could try a few browsers and see if one has what you want.

The program installs as a new button in the IE toolbar (as well as a new menu item under "Tools") - after filling in a form, just hit the ieSpell button and it pops up a dialog, similar to the MS Word spell check. ieSpell also works (right-click menu only) on other IE based browsers such as Crazy Browser, MSN, My IE, MyIE2, Net Captor, etc

Hi all
Thanks for ya replies in response to this I have decided that I'm going to use firebird as it is very much like IE easy to use all be it a lil weird as I been using IE for so long but so far I'm liking it and it fits most of the criteria I'm looking for however I have one massive problem no spell checker which is drag as I rely upon IE spell a lot especially when I'm in forums like this so I need to know if there is a spell checker that works with firebird

Hi Bethrezen.
Have you tried the Mozilla Firebird Discussion(forum) tab?
It should be next to Mozilla Firebird Help tab on the Firebird Toolbar.
If you don't hear from anyone here, maybe someone at that forum will know of an extension or third party spell checker for Firebird.
I looked thru the extensions(Tools>Options>Extensions>get extensions)and I didn't see a spell checker listed.
