Origin/Pronunciation of NOD32?

OK, this isn't anything of any importance...more like just curiosity.

I'm guessing the 32 refers to 32 bit compatibility.....but I'm curious if NOD is pronounced "nod" (as in "nod of the head").....or N-O-D, as in seperate letters, like how KAV is pronounced. I'm also wondering if the letters NOD specifically stand for anything in particular.

I guess a basic introductory history lesson is what I'm looking for.....NOD 101 type info/stuff.....:P ;D

The -32 suffix at the end of the program's name (or the abbreviated name) originally referred to the fact that the program was designed to operate in a 32-bit operating system, much like PowWow32 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PowWow_(chat_program)), XVI32 (http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delphi/freeware/xvi32/xvi32.htm) and other programs used a -32 suffix to distinguish their 16-bit and 32-bit programs, however, since there is now some equity in the NOD32name it does not appear that will change soon, as evinced by the fact the version for Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/) Windows (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/) XP (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/) x64 Edition (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/) is called NOD32.

In the U.S. office, both nawd and ehn oh dee are used interchangeably.

In Bulgaria , we call it NOD ,not N-O-D ,just NOD ;D

But NOD is in modern English which in spoken language seems to be nod=not a virus ;D
