And if you install a new firewall do you have to uninstall your old one? Sorry for the obvious question :-[

Mrkvonic accidentally made a typo, what he really means is, you Must UNINSTALL your previous firewall first, offline of course, and have your new firewall already downloaded ready to install afterwards.
I can recommend ZoneAlarm free, as i've been using it for several years with no problems.

The firewall that use less cpu? The one that can filter the most internet traffic with less cpu use?
The one use less ram?
It can be also simple. It is ufficient to allow complete access to single software like emule ICQ antivirus (for update). I don't' need particular services.
Perhaps some statistic function on usage ed an interface usable. Also to see process that use port and what port and what is allowed and what is denied, but basic functions.
