I need virus and spyware samples please!

I have a customer who has over 200+ machines and 3 servers and they are looking to move away from Symantec (:D ) but they want a test bed before they (hopefully) accept NOD.

Can you please send me samples, programs etc to the follwing email address:

Why don't you just go on a few crack and/or porn sites. You'll find plenty. :dry:

Best to refer them to www.av-comparatives.org or www.virusbtn.com for independant testing.
There is a fundamental flaw in thier testing process if they rely on a bunch of samples you give them in that you could have pre-screened them to make sure that NOD32 detects all of them first.
You could also offer them copies of some of the case studies or testimonials that have been done. You can find them from www.eset.sk/en/company

I'm absolutely 100% positive that if they take the time to look at even just one or two of those available resources they will easily be able to see just how NOD32 compares with the Symantec you mentioned.

How do you propose that someone get these samples to you without password protecting the attachment? My ISP, like most, scans all incoming and outgoing mail (with Symantec Corporate) and the attachment would be stripped if it was found to contain a virus. Of course, no AV can get into a password protected file so that becomes necessary for most users to do if they wish to pass viruses around for test purposes. I also have an email account at dslreports and they also scan all the mail so it too would get nowhere without password protection. I'm not sure I even have the files I used to (there are none on my main computer) that contained a lot of virus samples but if I do, I couldn't send them with such a restriction. Plus, they are old viruses. I find it odd that so many users use an AV's email scanner these days since I don't know anyone with broadband whose ISP doesn't scan all incoming and outgoing mail for viruses.

I'm sorry folks, but we really can't support the exchange of malware regardless of the intentions of those involved. While we do encourage the sending of malware samples to the makers of the various protection products, exchanges for the purpose of testing and even education should not be organized on the public forums here.
