Hi,
I've been trialing Acronis TI Home 9.0 (build 3.633) for some time now, and I noticed that 2 options are missing in the "Backup Creation Options" panel, when using the Backup Wizard, after selecting "Set options manually": the resulting panel only shows 6 options: "File level security settings" and "Media components" are missing. These options are available when selection "use default options", and clicking the "Tools->Options" link in the "Description" pane, so a workaround is available, but this is at least confusing for novice users. Attached .jpg contains screenshots of both panels.

The OPTIONS window shows all options for all operations.
Individual operations will only show the options valid for that operation.

Very true and from the options shown it seems juul was creating a new full disk/partition backup archive to non-removable media. Hence reason we can see the "Archive protection" option (it wouldn't be available if creating an incremental or differential image) but the "File level security settings" and the "Media components" options aren't presented.

In which case there's some "flaw" in the logic to determin the applicable options... I'm creating a full backup of my hard drive, and I want to add the full "Acronis TI Home" to the backup, so that I can use it as a recovery disk, E.g. after a hard disk crash. The "Set options manually" panel however doesn't have the "Media components" selection, although I would say that this most definitely is a valid option for this type of backup...

No "Flaw" in the logic I'm afraid. For very good reasons, the "Media components" can only be added to images created on removable media e.g. CDs, DVDs and Zip Drives.

I stand corrected here... :-\ :-\ :-\ ; I used the backup wizard again, but making sure that I selected removable media (the USB stick), and this time the "Media components" option was present...
Perhaps I first noticed this because the DVD drive on my other computer is not completely recognised ??? ??? ???
But let's forget about this; the option can be selected if needed...

Juul
