I still have a couple of old Windows 95 PC's that i need to take archive images of. Ever since the first versions of TI6 I have found that PC's hang up on the first reboot after install of TI. This is the same for all versions up to v8. I have tried all builds and wasted days - even weeks - trying to get the install to work. The only solution to get the PC to boot again is to boot safe mode and uninstall Acronis. The un-install usually reports that it has failed to remove the program, but the system then reboots OK.

This problem has been exactly the same on 30-40 completely different PC's over the months. Most systems (but not all) will have been the very last patches and updates to Win95, including the patch to get faster AMD CPU's to run with Win95. The rest of the hardware is totally standard in all cases. Was there ever a fix or work-around for this issue? I can't believe I was the only one to have this problem.

Jon.

Hello Jon,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

I'm afraid that Acronis True Image does not support Windows 95. The oldest operating system which is supported is Window 98. You can find the list of supported operating systems at this section (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/requirements.html) of our web site.

However, we can recommend you to create Acronis Bootable Rescue CD and use for backing up of such unsupported systems.

Thank you.
