OS-Windows XP Professional SP2
Acronis True Image Buid 2323

Every month, I backup my entire "C" drive using Acronis True Image Backup. This backup is done to a external hard disk that is connected to the system via USB.
The "c" drive crashed. I tried using the Recovery files created on floppies. I had a read error. I then reloaded Windows XP Professional SP2 and Acronis, and then created New Recovery files. Rebooted with the recovery File CD. I tried running the complete Recovery of my "C" drive using the correct "tib" file. During this process, I got an error message "Backup file is corrupt". I have also been getting a message in the "Active Task" window -- "Invalid Script File".Any suggestions in helping resolve this problem?

Hello Sam Ceccola,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

Please download and install the latest build (3633) of Acronis True Image 9.0 which is available in the Product Updates section (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/updates/) of our web-site.

Please uninstall any previously installed build by following Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Acronis True Image, prior to installing build 3633.

Please create the new bootable rescue media with the latest build, boot your computer from it and try to restore an image.

Could you please clarify whether you create an image within Windows or in rescue mode?

If the "corrupt image" error persists with the latest build, please create an image to the internal hard drive and verify its integrity.

Please also try to verify images created from under Windows using Acronis True Image 9.0 Bootable rescue CD and vice versa.

Please find the detailed information on how to use Acronis True Image 9.0 Home in the respective User's Guide (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/download/docs/).

Please let us know your results.

Thank you.
