I actually saw a clip of the race on the news here this morning and well... it's a hell of a lot to go through for a hunk of cheese. ;D

It's Brit thing....like Rugby, the Hood and the Wall Game etc.,..........to be any good at getting the Cheese, you have to be able to run downhill at about 42MPH (In English money) whilst chasing a Cheese doing about 65MPH.....

Breaking a vital part of your anatomy is all part of the fun.....if you can emulate the actions of a rag-doll thrown by a petulent child over a long distance, then you are sure to raise a cheer from the onlookers, who obviously aren't stupid enough to take part........

It comes in line with 'Maypole Dancing' and 'Morris Dancing' (Who the hay was Morris, and why didn't his Mother strangle him at birth?)....

Which brings me gaily to another point of interest........Do you know why Morris Dancers wear bells?.................

So they can annoy blind people as well as the rest of us..........;D

I would assume it's so normal people can here them coming and disappear!

I am assuming from your comments that Morris Dancing is not a sign of a well adjusted human being. Just what exactly is Morris Dancing. (Please tell me it has nothing to do with the chow, chow, chow!

If this link is correct(what the Chief is speaking of),

http://www.ucolick.org/~sla/morris/whatisit.html

the description of the Morris does sound as if it could be rather annoying. ;D

World Gurning Championship (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/3670504.stm)

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/cumbria/3670400.stm

Gurning is held at the The Crab Fair which was first held in 1267.

"The world gurning championship was a good night and included an Australian competitor, our first Swedish entry and two girls from New Zealand who were touring England and had heard about the competition." lol

Yup, it's not easy being a British cheese eccentric these days.

We're Edam'med if we do and Edam'med if we don't.

I believe the plea you were seeking is not guilty by reason of insanity - not incredulity.....:P

It's incredible that young e-o has the impertinence to infer that I am insane !! I am having my people seek a temporary injunction to be served upon his people. In the likely event he has no people....my Uncle Guido is casting him a new pair of permanent ceement shoes.

It's the "Family Code", Spaghettied.

Ps...hold the chise!!
