Damn good answer Texcritter and it is relevant!:)
But this is the answer I was looking for-
If you add all the numbers from 100 to 1 the sum total is 5050.
A bit of trivia-
There is a well known story about Karl Friedrich Gauss when he was in
elementary school. His teacher got mad at the class and told them to
add the numbers 1 to 100 and give him the answer by the end of the
class. About 30 seconds later Gauss gave him the answer.
The other kids were adding the numbers like this:
1 + 2 + 3 + . . . . + 99 + 100 = ?
But Gauss rearranged the numbers to add them like this:
(1 + 100) + (2 + 99) + (3 + 98 ) + . . . . + (50 + 51) = ?
If you notice every pair of numbers adds up to 101. There are 50
pairs of numbers, so the answer is 50x101 = 5050. Of course Gauss
came up with the answer about 20 times faster than the other kids.

Puzzle: The wise teacher offered the three noisiest students a deal. He showed them that he had 2 RED hats and 3 BLUE hats.
The deal worked like this:
The three students would close their eyes, and while their eyes were closed, the teacher would put a hat on each of their heads (and hide the other two hats).
Then, one at a time, the students would open their eyes, look at the other two students' heads, and try to guess which color hat was on their own head.
Any students that guessed correctly would have no homework to do the rest of the semester. But any student that guessed wrong would not only have to do their own homework, but also have to help on everyone else's homework.
The students drew numbers to see who would guess first. Then they closed their eyes and the wise teacher put a hat on each one's head.
Jimmy, who was to go first, opened his eyes, looked at the others' heads, and said he didn't really want to play. He couldn't tell for sure and he didn't want to guess in case he was wrong.
Next, Merry opened her eyes and looked at the others' heads. She also thought about the fact that Jimmy had said he couldn't tell. Then she said she didn't want to risk it either. She couldn't tell for sure.
Melissa was third. She just stood there with her eyes still closed tightly and a big grin on her face. "I know what color hat I have on," she said.
And she gave the right answer.
Your problem is to figure out what color hat Melissa had on and how she knew for sure.
Remember: Melissa didn't even look!

Grandfather John has a son named Jack
Grandmother Ann has a daughter named Rita
Jack and Rita are married and have 2 sons and 2 daughters (2 brothers and 2 sisters)
These are the 4 grandchildren and with jack and rita = 6 children
The two mothers are Ann and Rita
The two fathers are John and Jack
The 3 sons are Jack and his 2 sons
The 3 daughters are Ann and her 2 daughters
John is the father in law of Rita
Ann is the mother in law of Jack
