No matter how many times I try to delete this it comes back in 2-3 days as my default web-page...
The site is called: http://www.payfortraffic.net/mainsearch.htm

What can I do about this? ???

Hi Proteus,

Please download, unzip and run CWShredder (http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip)

That should take care of it. If it doesn't please post back and post your HijackThis log (http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/)
Download, Unzip and run HijackThis. Then click Scan > Save log, save the log as a .txt file and copy & paste its content into your next post.
Don´t fix anything yet. Most of what it finds is harmless.

Regards,

Pieter

Hi Proteus,

I can't read the version number of HijackThis. If that is 1.96.4 you should be rid of the hijack.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RDLL] RunDll16.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [RDLL] RunDll16.exe
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present
O9 - Extra button: MktBrowser (HKLM)
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: MarketBrowser (HKLM)
O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://207.188.7.150/09ce88431c580ab5d118/netzip/RdxIE6.cab

Reboot after doing so, preferably into safe mode (http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406) and delete:
RunDll16.exe

Thanks! :D
The CWShredder seems to work.
However I'm not going to delete the other stuff via hijackblaster as you mentioned because they seem harmless. 8)

Hi Proteus,

Harmless?
Google for rundll16.exe and see how many references to SubSeven you can find. :o ( http://www.google.com/search?q=RunDll16.exe&sourceid=opera&num=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 )
Not to mention other viruses and worms using that file name.

The rest is merely annoying, so be my guest.

Pieter
