Officially, the first long weekend of the summer. 8)

Chilly and windy here, but that's almost engraved in stone for summer holiday weekends up this way. :P At least no rain, not till late tonight.

An interesting side-note about Canada's allegiance/ties to the British Crown -- somewhere in the not too distant past, our official allegiance (as in the oath of acquired citizenship) became to Elizabeth herself rather than to the nameless crown. So once she's gone, that'll be the end of our last official tie to Britain.

There'll still be tradition and trade, of course -- I imagine "--our" (as in colour or honour) rather than "or" will continue to be our correct spelling for ages to come.
