NYB? & Trojan Hunter.

Is NOD32 capable of detecting the nyb (aka new york blues/beauty, B1, etc.) virus on a NFTS formatted hard drive with Windows XP? I tried using a floppy which I later found was infected, but NOD32 didn't detect a thing after. (I was expecting that the NYB virus would automatically infect the mbr the second the floppy disk was put into the drive.)

Also, does anyone here use TrojanHunter? (The one from Mischel Internet Security.) I've tried the trial version before I used NOD32, it lagged a bit, and gave me a couple of error messages. But it seems to be the most popular TH, so I'm thinking of trying it again. Anyway, does TH in anyway have conflicts with NOD32?

I am running Win98SE, TH and NOD32v2 - no problems.

I tried TrojanHunter with Nod and I have no problem... But - TrojanHunder Guard (online scanner) is really slow :( Nod32 have about 5 seconds CPU time after one working day... But Guard have over 30 seconds after 2 minutes testing... :( It paints "The Alps" in my Cpu-usage graph ;)

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll definately consider purchasing Trojan Hunter in the future. I'm still, however, bugged by how much it lagged on the demo version, and that one error message I kept getting that I forgot... :-\

I do not use TrojanHunter myself, but if you find that TH Guard is slow, have you considered excluding it from within NOD32 AMON?

This will prevent NOD32 from scanning TH's Guard every time it executes. It could make quite a difference. I have excluded my trojan scanner from AMON and I believe it has cut down on the CPU time used.

You can search this forum for Exclusions or Exclude for more information. Note that several members have reported that the Exclude feature does not work entirely, however it does work for me and apparently most users. It is certainly worth trying. Post back here if you have any difficulty.

Nope, I haven't tried that, I might later though. But thanks for telling me, it could've been the reason why it was lagging.

I've already e-mailed NOD32's support regarding the NYB thing, no response yet. :-\ Still am paranoid that I might have it..
