Hello screamer,
Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).
We are sorry for the delay with the response.
First of all, please make sure that you use the latest build of the respective Acronis True Image version available in the Product Updates (https://www.acronis.com/enterprise/my/updates/) section of your account at our web site. Note that you should create new Bootable Rescue CD after installing the update.
If the problem still persists with the latest build of the respective Acronis True Image version then please do the following:
(I.) If the problem appears when you try to create an image saving it to a windows based NAS using Acronis True Image from under Windows then please check each partition of the hard drive that you try to backup by Windows utility:
- For Windows 9x please use Windows menu Start\Run then enter the command "scandskw" and test all drives;
- For Windows XP please use Windows menu Start\Run, then enter the command "chkdsk c: /r" "chkdsk d: /r" for every partition of your hard drive.
Note that you will need to reboot your computer in order to scan the system partition.
Please also download the latest version of Acronis drivers (http://download.acronis.com/support/SnapAPI.222_s_e.exe), install it with disabled logging and see if the problem still persists.
If the problem still persists then enable logging by running the Acronis drivers installation package once again, reproduce the problem and collect the c:\snapapi.log file.
Please also provide us with the following information:
- What exact version and build number of Acronis True Image do you use?
- Create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=55317) for both computer that you try to backup and computer where the network share you try to save the resulting image to is located;
- Reproduce the problem and collect Acronis True Image log which can be saved from Tools -> Show Log -> Diskette icon;
- Make a screen shot or provide the exact text of the error message that you receive;
- Let us know when you receive this error message exactly;
- Clarify whether the problem appears when you try to create a disk\partition image or a file-based backup;
- Are you able to create an image saving it to any hard drive connected locally?
- Describe your network structure in detail;
- Describe actions taken before the problem appears step-by-step.
(I.) If the problem appears when you try to create an image saving it to a windows based NAS using Acronis True Image Bootable Rescue CD then please try booting with "acpi=off noapic" parameter as it is described in Acronis Help Post (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=55317).
If that does not help then please provide us with the following information:
- Create Acronis Report and Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=55317);
- Use digital camera to make a shot or provide the exact text of the error message that you receive;
- Let us know when you receive this error message exactly;
- Clarify whether the problem appears when you try to create a disk\partition image or a file-based backup;
- Are you able to create an image saving it to any hard drive connected locally?
- Describe your network structure in detail;
- Describe actions taken before the problem appears step-by-step.
Please submit a request for technical support (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/support/). Provide the files and information collected in your request along with the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.
Thank you.
