Hi there

Can anyone recommend a good utility that blocks Referrer information? Can be either as a specific function (preferred) or as part of a larger web provacy application. Freeware or shareware.

Thanks in advance.

Baldrick

PS. Have tried WebWasher but that seems to cause problems with some forum sites.

If you're using Firefox use this extension - RefControl (https://addons.mozilla.org/addon.php?id=953)

Opera has this feature builtin -> check the network options. ;) (Screen Shot - see referred option)

Other wise if you're looking for a solution for all browsers Proxomitron. :)

Hi Dog

I note from your Opera screenhsot: ID = MSIE6
I had Opera set to this but recently changed to ID=Opera (thinking this would be better)

If browser is identified as IE is this only cosmetic and doesn't lessen any security within the browser. I presume to stop sites rejecting as they think you don't have IE? Thanks for advice on this.

Thanks WSFuser will have to try this as I have been rejected on sites plus I know some are not displayed correctly.
I had identify as IE at first and then changed but it may help to revert at times.

i have to correct my statement a bit. changing ur user agent wont help if the site needs IE because of activex. but thats obvious. :)
