I am looking into this, and as usual starting from blank slate

http://www.vmware.com/vmtn/appliances/directory/cat/25

and I am wondering wether any body has experience with this as secure browsing option?

Conflicts with other apps?

?some problem with BO Clean.

DO standard protections apply or is the system proper totally isolated?
Run from C drive pr from external storage/usb drive.

Hello,
I am using VMWare Player extensively and it's a very useful tool.
I use to play old games that no longer run on 'modern' systems.
I use it to test software compatibilities and new - other - OSes.
I use it to test burned live CD isos.
It can also be used for safe browsing - within the limitations of the Player itself, that is if malware can break through the Player - use some internal exploit it might have.
You can use pre-built machines (vmx) to see how different things work, like various linux distros or such. You can also use existing environment builder tools (ask me if you need), to build 'blank' computers and install into them - which can also be a good exercise if you never installed an OS.
On the VMWare site, they also offer the Browser Appliance machine, which is a linux-based thingie and supposed to provide extra security for Windows users.
So, try it, it's nice.
