Alright, I have two problems here:
First, awhile ago I clicked on a popup ad from 888.net (an online casino..) and it changed my IE settings and added many pages to my favourites folder. and now everytime I start up my computer, an ad pops up asking me if I would like to try Casino On Net for free etc. I was wondering if anybody knows how to get rid of this thing on my computer.

Secondly.. I just downloaded the Browser Hijack Blaster and everytime I use it, it says my default homepage has been changed even though it has not. It says that my homepage has been changed from an address, but all it shows are several weird characters. So I would like to know what's up with that.

Thanks a lot! ^^

Do a search on google and download Spybot Search and Destroy and also Spyware Blaster. Run Those then tell me what happens. ;D

Hi ahmui88,

Welcome at Wilders,

Download Spybot - Search & Destroy (http://www.tomcoyote.org/SPYBOT/)
After installing, first press Online, and search for, put a check mark at, and install all updates.
Next, close all IE windows, hit 'Check for Problems', and have SpyBot remove all it marks in red.

Or, download Ad-Aware at lavasoft.usa.com (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware)
After installing AAW, and before running the program, update by using the Globe icon.
Shut down and restart Ad-Aware.
Now press "Scan Now", "Select drives\folders to scan" and select the active partition (usually C: ), then 'next', and let Ad-Aware scan your drives.
It will find a number of "bad" files and registry keys. Click 'Next' again.
Rightclick in that pane and choose "select all" and click 'next'.
It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK.
Finally, close Ad-Aware, and reboot.

If that doesn't solve it, please go to http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/, and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log as a .txt file, and copy and paste its contents into your next post.

Most of what it lists will be harmless, so do not fix anything yet.

Regards,

Pieter
