This is a fraud Phishing plugin for IE, which looks pretty comprehensive and offers lots of info about it etc on their website http://www.vengine.com/

http://www.vengine.com/products/vengine/help.html

http://www.vengine.com/products/tour.html

I went to this page https://www.vengine.com/products/prove_it.html and double clicked the gold SSL padlock to check the certificate as they suggest.

178397

Clicked on Issuer Statement which went here https://secure.comodo.net/CPS

The page cannot be displayed

The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

The product seems ok, but i havn't tried it. Funny why that page won't didplay though ?

Steve

Thanks for trying Vengine. Vengine is the only product that allows you to verify web content and its based on PKI.

the page you are referring to re-directs to the repository page. pls try again.

btw: i would suggest go to www.paypal.com and put your mouse over the paypal logo.. you will see that it will verify its legitimacy. Go to any bank and put your mouse over their logo, then it will verify it. or login boxes banks have etc..

Also Vengine will tell you the difference between High Assurance SSL or Low assurance SSL certificates. As Low assurance SSL certificate is heavily used in phishing attacks it becomes an important piece of information and VE (Verification Engine) displays that very clearly for piece of mind. (you can test this by going to any https session.).

Pls feel free to suggest in ways which we can improve..

thanks
