newbie question

newbie q i guess but did a update for 1.1517 now and it started to download but nod32 never updated the latest virus version in the nod "gui"...tried 4 times too download latest virus version and saw nod32 download but i couldnt get nod32 too update in the "gui" or the files in the folder updfiles or...soo when i tried the fifth time it worked soo my Q is when i downlad the same virus version 5 times,does that screw up the size of nod32.000 file,meaning nod32.000 doesnt update five times?the size of nod32.000 is 4057 kb or 4 153 693 bytes??same for you guys??

Size on disk: 3.96 MB (4,157,440 bytes) ;D
From which server did u try downloading? Are u using a trial or a commercial version?

Why don't you uninstall NOD32 . Goto Add/Remove programs in Control panel and then remove it . Reboot . Goto C:\Program files and manually delete the ESET folder .

Make sure you have a firewall turned ON.
Then download the latest version of NOD32

Trial version :

Commercial version :

Install NOD32 on your computer . Restart . Don't do anything special, just allow NOD files to pass-by your firewall and then update it . Actually , make sure NOD files are allowed to connect to internet !!!

After you update your NOD32 , make sure you configure it correctly . This should guide you:

Test your AV with Eicar test file (www.eicar.org) and then perform full scan .
