Spyware Guard - does it scan?

Dear All:

I have installed SG, and the update, but cannot see a button to "start scan" - a feature of all the other anti-spyware software I have installed. Is there such a function? Or am I misunderstanding how SG works? (Apologies if this is a stupid question - I'm a bit of a novice!).
