View Full Version : script to do verification without backup

Anybody know how to modify a script that does backup plus verification so that it only does the verification?

I'm trying to write a little Visual Basic program to manage some backup operations. The program launches a backup script. The script itself was generated by the TI scheduler. I've looked inside the script, and can halfway make sense of it, but not nearly well enough to try to modify it.

Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Hello wrcad,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

I'm afraid that it is not possible to create a script which will run only the verification process, because a validation of an image archive that runs after the image creation scheduled as a task is loaded by the image creation process and cannot be loaded without this process.

Thank you.

This is a shame. Verifications can be run manually independent of the backup process. It would be nice to be able to run a verification via schedule. For example, the scheudle d tasks I run employ batch files and they don't operate if verificatin after backup is checked in the scheduled task. So it would be nice to simply be able to schedule a verification.

Hello shieber,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

I'm afraid that as Kirill has already mentioned above the current version of Acronis True Image does not allow scheduling of the image verification process separately.

If you want us to change the behaviour of Acronis True Image in any way or add some new features to this product, please feel free to post any of your suggestions in Acronis True Image WISH-LIST thread (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=85595). They will certainly be considered and probably implemented in the future Acronis True Image builds\versions.

Thank you.
