Open Ports
Program Description
A DOS program, called "netstat," is included in every copy of Windows can help you determine which ports on your system are open. Unfortunately, the output can be difficult to understand. Open Ports is a HTA application that can aid you in figuring out which ports are open and what they are connecting to. Open Ports will run netstat and pass the data to a webpage (on the Jason's Toolbox website) which will parse it into an easier to read format.
How To Run OpenPorts
Temporarily disable any HTA blocking software: Since OpenPorts is an HTA application, Script Sentry and other programs designed to stop HTA programs from running might see it as potentially malicious. You may need to temporarily disable these programs or grant OpenPorts approval to run.
Download OpenPorts: Click on this OpenPorts download link (http://www.wilderssecurity.info/OpenPorts.hta). You can either choose to open up the OpenPorts HTA script or save it locally and then open it. Besides the OpenPorts.hta file itself (which may remain in your browser's Temporary Internet Files folder), no other files should remain on your system after running OpenPorts. In addition, no changes to your system's registry will be made.
Follow the OpenPorts directions: OpenPorts will direct you through the remaining steps.
Personal notes; this isn’t Online web-scanning System, it’s a script that gets executed locally and detects all opened ports and submits it to the server for translation to help with interpretation for user viewing.
