View Full Version : nod32ra not responding on shutdown

We've just installed a new NOD32 Enterprise 2.51.26 (15 user) on NT4SP6a server and everything is running at warp speed.
However now the server will not shutdown/restart. Have tried reinstalling RAC and RAS v1.0.9. No effect. Ending nod32ra.exe from task manager causes error "cannot respond to end task request". The only workaround is to stop the service in Control Panel with error "An application error has occurred"
Then we can shutdown the server.
There are no clues in the ra logfile
Any ideas on what to try next?

Have escalated this issue to NOD32 support in Australia.
Otherwise we might wait for a new version and see if that helps.

Hello MelbInfo,
One thing you may try is investigating the "User Profile Hive Cleanup" service. Whether it will aid in your particular circumstances I do not know. It was developed to help with shut down problems.

After many attempts at a resolution to this problem we have found the fix is to install v1.0.11 of RAC and RAS, AND also untick "Allow service to interact with desktop" in Control Panel>Services>RA Server.

Note this setting must be unticked after every reinstallation of RAS since the setup ticks it by default.
