The latest TDS install kit adds that entry to your hosts file because some time ago, the DCS private forums were located at that "dcsresearch" website. But, that site is now something completely unrelated to DCS and the TDS program...
The DCS people did not want anyone who was looking for their support site to accidentally end up in the wrong place, so they add that entry to the Hosts file.
The IP address assigned to that dcsresearch site in the Hosts file is the DCS support site.

What LowWaterMark said. :)
But to elaborate, we no longer own the DCSResearch site so when you install TDS it simply adds one line to your hosts file so that if you go to www.dcsresearch.com you'll go to the new site - feel free to use a text file editor such as Notepad to remove this line if you don't like it there but we haven't had any complaints about it in the several months it's been there and it has helped cut down a lot on support requests for people asking where the forum is. The choice is completely yours and during install is the only time it gets added so feel free to leave or remove that line :)
Best regards,
Wayne

Why didn't you simply change the link inside the program?

Hi Andreas, with the next TDS upgrade round the corner this was the best solution for the moment for this version.
