it just be an update or will you have to download a whole new program?

I suppose you'll have to download the program again.
Or maybe that updater will be included in a later version. ::)
Only ewido team can tell us how it will work on release,
but still a lot of testing to perform before we get there. ;)

The updater will update program components as well but we don't upload the new binaries after every compilation. (that would be to often ;) )
But I can't tell what will be finally with the release. It will take some time until release. Just wait until the time and you will get an answer then ;)

Are there any changes as regards the emulation? It seems to me that the emulation has been improved since 3.0 (i.e., it can recognize certain anti-emulation tactics)? Am I correct? What about additional packer/crypter support? Does the mem scanner still scan a file only once upon execution?
If possible, please tell us a little bit about the technical development/improvements of Ewido and not only about the GUI changes. I hope all this stuff is not top secret.
