My install never seems to update & I have a feeling something may be wrong with my install. My version is at GSS 1.010 and Regdefend 2.001.
Could anyone let me know if this is current thanks?

tam30, you seem to have the same version of regdefend that i do, so i don't think that you are having any problems..
there is a different version of regdefend that is packaged with "appdefend".. i don't have appdefend installed so i am not familiar with that situation..

The latest version of regdefend is available only bundled with appdefend beta.
It's 2.050
The GSS version is 1.110

The updating facility is not intended to provide you with a new version of RD as it becomes available, rather it is to facilitate minor upgrades of Rules etc, should these become necessary. In practice RD very rarely updates these things, so you only need to check on an occasional basis.
The latest version of RD is bundled with AD and the whole package is still beta, so you would have to install it separately if you were interested.

Have you ever heard a program that autoupgrate to the lastest BETA setting ?
You have the lastest Non beta of GSS, this being said RD in the current beta is gold ... however appdefend and alert tab still need some tweaking

No.... you update the rule yourself, Or else you may loose your own customisation. It is intended to give you the lastest non beta version of RD.
However the currect beta is very stable.

Yes, Ad Muncher (http://admuncher.com) can do so, optionally.
I know I've seen others as well, I just can't think of any at the moment.
Oh, I know--since it's optional that doesn't count.

PowerArchiver and AOL Instant Messenger can autoupdate to Beta versions as well.

You may also want to include programs wich where never realy released out of beta
And program such as azureus that optiannaly let you upgrate to lastest CVS ... let you takes notes ... and let you switch between diferent cvs
