Very interesting! in Win2K Image Name is checked by default and can't be unchecked (AFAIK)

I see... I fired up my laptop (XP).

If it's checked, he might try pressing CTRL + (NumKey +) to refresh the column widths to see if the columns got overlapped somehow...

This is the most likely cause - assuming malware to be the root of all evil is somewhat premature here, particularly with something this obvious.

Another option is to use RegEdit to reset the preferences for Task Manager by closing any existing copies of Task Manager, deleting the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\TaskManager key and restarting Task Manager.
