Hello, I own a Linksys router that I bought a few years ago... still working good. But I am just wondering if any of the things I do online which is talk with friends and family and play games do the things I type, the websites I visit and so forth get stored on the router at all or just on my computer which can be cleaned by running... for example Privacy Guardian from PC Tools?

Thanks!

Gracie

Nothing will be stored on your linksys router. All of your temporary stuff is on your computer and can be wiped with free programs such as ATFCleaner(nice stand alone .exe) or CCleaner. Just remember to keep your linksys router firmware updated to protect you against any of its vulnerabilities ;)

What logging capabilities does the router have and is it enabled?

Hi, oh none that I know of... I was just wondering out of curiousity because I know I can clean the Internet Explorer cookies, cache, etc by a program.

Gracie,

What model Linksys do you have? If you happen to have logging turned on (SNMP basically) which is what CrazyM is referring to, it may be storing things.

If you have logging disabled, you are good to go.
