I am thinking about backing up my HDD with Acronis True Image but my main HDD dual-boots with Windows 2000/Solaris 10 using System Commander...

When I try to make a backup image, will this dual-booting cause some issues or problems during an image transfer to one HDD to another??

Please advise - Thanks in advance!!

Hello andy88,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

Please be aware that Acronis True Image 9.0 does not support Solaris and therefore can not be installed on this operating system. It also does not support Solaris file system (ZFS). However, Acronis True Image 9.0 can be installed under Windows 2000 and used either from under Windows or when your computer is booted from Acronis True Image Bootable Rescue CD. Acronis True Image 9.0 also allows raw sector-by-sector imaging of the partitions with unknown or corrupted file system (e.g. Solaris ZFS partitions). We therefore do not expect any problems with Acronis True Image 9.0 creating an image of the hard drive containing Solaris ZFS partitions if it is running from Bootable Rescue CD (ZFS partitons are most likely not accessible when Acronis True Image 9.0 is running from under Windows).

Anyway, we recommend you to download and install the free trial version of Acronis True Image 9.0 (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/download/trueimage/) to see how the software works on your computer.

You can find the detailed instructions on how to use Acronis True Image 9.0 in the respective User's Guide (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/download/docs/).

You may also find Acronis True Image 9.0 FAQ page (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/faq.html) helpful.

If you have any further questions concerning Acronis software, please feel free to submit a request for technical support (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/) or post any of them on this forum. We will certainly try to help you in resolving any issues.

Thank you.
