Hi,
Could anyone get Snap Deploy PXE server to work across multiple subnets (VLAN)? I have Cisco 2600 router and Cisco Cat switch. IP HELPER-ADDRESS is used on the router and DHCP works fine across VLANs but when PXE is booted, it could not get an IP and exits. Please help if you could get Snap Deploy PXE server to work across multiple subnets? I'm using the latest build.
Thanks,
- Patrick

Hello Patrick,
Thank you for choosing Acronis Complete System Deployment Software (http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/snapdeploy/).
In order to specify the network parameters manually, please boot each computer you want to deploy from PXE Server and hit F11 key when the boot menu appears. As you get Linux Kernel Settings prompt, please add quiet if=eth0 ip=x.x.x.x dns=x.x.x.x gw=x.x.x.x mask=x.x.x.x (provide the IP) parameter to the end of the Linux kernel command line and click OK. Then continue operation as usual.
Thank you.

The client PXE could not even get to the Acronis menu for me to hit F11 key. Why do I have to do that anyway? Could it just pick up the DHCP address for that VLAN like everything else? Is there an automatic way instead of manual like you mentioned?

What kind of hardware are you trying to deploy to? What version number of PXE is the target computer at?

on your cisco switch make sure you have the following things turned on
ip helper-address pxeServerIPAddress
ip helper-address dhcpServerIPAddress
ip dhcp relay information trusted
the only other command you might need for multicast is
ip pim dense-mode
