Having just made a 118GB FAT32 partition with Acronis DDS 10,on my new (Windows XP Home) computer, I read that any FAT32 partitions over 64GB are likely to cause ScanDisk and Defrag to overwrite the FATand cause crashing. Also that "Third Party formatting utilities" may "get into trouble". :(
The article goes on to state that 32KB is the safe maximum cluster size, which would make the theoretical limit 128GB
All seems well so far, and I know the mathematical limit of 2TB has been quoted here in the past, but has anyone experienced problems with FAT32 partitions which exceed 64GB ? ???
