I've just had two of my Nod32 customers ring me reporting they have had identical messages (as below)... the only common factor between them is that they are both running W98. But both have been Nod32 users for 3 years now w/o any previous (Nod related) problems

both these messages are coming from both computers:
> 8/03/06 14:13:08 PM - During execution of AMON - File system monitor on
> the computer K5M6K1, the following warning occured: Unable to load file
> system monitor.
> 8/03/06 14:13:06 PM - During execution of NOD32 Kernel on the computer
> K5M6K1, the following warning occured: Virus Scanner could not be initialized.
> NOD32 System modules may not function properly.

I've asked them to bring the computers in & will uninstall & reinstall Nod32 for them, but it would be nice to hear from someone who can shed some light on the possible reasons for this happening?

Try re-installing NOD32, after uninstallation, remove ESET folder from Program Files..

well, it seems that a huge coincidence has occurred here .. in one case Kodak software & in the other Canon software had been installed in the last week or so and it would appear there has been a conflict between AMON & these programs during the start-up.
Uninstalling & reinstalling Nod32 & disabling the other programs in start-up resolved the issue.

If you want those programs to start on start-up, try excluding those applications in AMON.
