Please bear with me, but I am very new to this and have a few questions. I want to make a copy of my entire computer to save on an external hd in case I ever have to reinstall everything on my computer. So would I do this by copying "My Computer" ? If I had to reinstall the OS to my computer, would I just do that from the OS disk and then download the "My Computer" file from the external hd to put back all of my data? I hope my questions make sense. I am just trying to make sure that I do not lose everything in case of a crash. Thanks!

Hi Jensmunk,
Besides to what you can see in My Computer, many other (normally hidden) data are recorded on the system drive, on which the OS resides. Those hidden data are required as well for the computer to operate.
True Image will enable you to create an image (a copy of all recorded data) of your system drive and store it on the external drive. If your OS crashes, TI will enable you to restore the exact previous (healthy) state of the system drive with the help of the image you made.
But please read the User's Guide and the FAQs before you start working with TI.
