i have zass on my pc want to keep it as a firewall but not crazy about its av capibility.can i just shut the av part off and trial kav or do i need to uninstall za first?

Just disable the AV component in ZA, BUT if you are trying out KAV 5 you will need to disable (http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=897) its IDS/network protection module.
Preferably, during a custom install of KAV.

why change zass av is pretty good if your not p2p or goig on porn
