Hi AAP

Have a look here:

It's probably true to say that Outlook and Outlook Express are probably more susceptible to malware attack than other non-MS products with their DEFAULT settings.

However, they can be adjusted to be less prone to such attacks and together with an up to date AV program and Common Sense they can both be very reliable e-mail clients.

First step would be to make sure you have all the latest security updates for Outlook from Microsoft.

I run Outlook on my laptop and I run KAV as my main AV scanner here as it has a specific Mailchecker program for Outlook. I also run Mailwasher Pro, Chiltern Preview and Watch Your Back; all of which increase the security of Outlook.

If you receive a lot of e-mails I would also recommend Nelson Email Organiser.

Having Office, you might as well use Outlook.

Good Luck.

Hi AAP. In addition to mailwasher you may want to look at Benign the perfect complimewnt to mailwasher http://www.firetrust.com/products/benign/?PHPSESSID=af02ae6e17a9c78c6e755cf1fd97bc49
There may be some discount available if you have brought mailwasher already . worth a an inquirey. But as 95% of all virus come thru our mail it pays to look into this area well as you are doing . Also your anti virus kept up to date will provide a secondry layer of support .
