Hi JAM, :)

Sorry if my former GE, which is an abbreviation for "Germany" confused you. :)
It's where I was born and raised ...and I don't live too close to Cleveland, but about 1 1/2 hrs. northeast of Columbus.

That explains the exotic name. Hope you are enjoying your time in the U.S.. I was born and raised in Cleveland, and have fond memories of General Electric's Nela Park at Christmas Time.

Saw a picture of your pup on http://cuteoverload.com/.

Thank's. I Do enjoy living in the U.S.. :)

And my fondest memories I have of General Electric is trusting only appliances with their "seal of approval"...after my unindentifyable
hairdryer started smoking the other day ! http://img421.imageshack.us/img421/2728/laugh5si.gif

Not to make fun of the situation, young lady, but be thankful that it was the dryer and not your hair that was smoking.

What are the weather conditions in the town an hour and a half from
Columbus?

I attempted to click the picture of the kid with the earmuffs, but nothing happened. It was not very warm here today either. The maximum was 60 degrees. You should start experiencing some warm up in the next 20-30 days.

I feel so sorry for the people in that part of the country as they attempt to maintain some comfort, coonsidering the price of natural gas and crude oil.

I hope spring arrives a little earlier this year, so to lessen your heating bills.

;D That little person was supposed to represent Me...freezing in the mideast of Ohio! ;D ;D

The small white/blue picture, in the middle is what I would like you to click.
It then goes to the site that hosts it. :)

I feel sorry for them also. I don't even want to remember christmastime 2004, where we had an ice-storm and lost power for several days.
It was so cold in the house you could see your breath.
I was surprised the pipes didn't burst! :P

Well...thank goodness for friends with a huge woodburner in their house. :D

What type of animals do you have as pets? How long have you resided in the U.S. and Ohio? Do you intend to remain here, or are you only temporary to receieve an education and then return to Germany. What city was your home in Germany? I have one old time friend who I worked with many years ago who lives in Stuttgart.

Hello John, :)

You asked about my pets...how fitting. Just today we had a discussion about it. :D

I'm originally from the huuuuge city of Berlin.
I miss the variety of everything. Very different from where I'm at now. :-\ You can say that I'm still a bit in culture shock, lol! ;D ;)

And I will see what the future may bring....always going with the flow as to what will happen next. ;)

After looking at the pictures, I can see why you may be homesick. I don't remember that much, but the closest you might find of waterways that somewhat resemble Germany, would be The Erie Canal, which at the beginning of the 20th Century was a very important route for commerce.

I only have one pet at this time, a 10 1/2 yr. old Belgian Malinois, that was abandoned. I really enjoy his company, and he is an excellent watchdog. When I was a police officer, my department had one of them and he was highly regarded by his handler and all the officers.

You have no reason to apologize for you use of the English language. You express yourself very well. Much better than I think I would in German, if I were in Germany.

I sicerely hope you enjoy your time in The U.S. and decide to become a permanent resident.

John
